Standard First Aid

Standard First Aid provides comprehensive training covering all aspects of first aid and CPR.

Topics Include:

  • Legal Implications of First Aid Treatment

  • Adult, Child and Infant CPR and Choking

  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Breathing Emergencies - Asthma, Hyperventilation, Anaphylaxis,

  • Circulation Emergencies - Heart Attack, Angina, Stroke, Life Threatening Internal/External Bleeding and Tourniquet Application, Shock

  • Wound Care - Bleeds, Burns, Impaled Objects

  • Sudden Medical Emergencies - Seizure, Diabetes

  • Head, Neck and Spinal Injuries

  • Environmental Illness - Heat and Cold Related Injuries

  • Bone, Muscle and Joint Injuries

  • Chest Injuries

  • Poisoning

Options:

2 Day In-Class Standard First Aid/CPR

Blended Standard First Aid/CPR: 8 hours online learning,1 Day In-Class

According to Regulation 1101, all workplaces in Ontario covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA) must provide first aid training to their employees.
*For workplaces with six or more people working on any shift, at least one must have a standard first aid certificate on shift at all times

Emergency First Aid

Emergency First Aid is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries.

Topics Include:

  • Legal Implications of First Aid

  • Adult, Child and Infant CPR and Choking

  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Respiratory Emergencies - Asthma, Hyperventilation

  • Circulatory Emergencies - Heart Attack, Angina, Stroke, External Bleeding, Shock

  • Wound Care - Bleeds and Burns

2 options:

1 Day In-Class Emergency First Aid/CPR

Blended Emergency First Aid/CPR: 4 hours online learning, 3.5-4.5 hours in class
